Babies
Muppet
babies are a classic from many of our childhoods, and like most
classics, will continue to last for a long time. There really is no
better gift to get for your kids, especially if they are young kids,
then a muppet babies dvd or a stuffed muppet animal that they can
cuddle with. Jim Henson is a genius, and practically all of his
products are great presents for kids, not just the muppet babies, but
also the muppets, including Gonzo, the Swedish Chef, and of course,
Kermit the frog.
I remember when muppet babies first came on tv. It was actually a spin
off of the muppet show, which was known for its outrageous puppets, top
notch celebrity guests, and strange blend of humor for children, and
adult humor which would go safely over their heads. The muppet show was
done as a night time talk and variety show, except with a studio full
of muppets watching from the front. When you watched the muppet show as
a kid, you really had the impression that you were watching a show
filmed in front of a live studio audience of muppets. But the muppet
babies were something different.
The muppet babies features the muppets when they were small. These
muppet babies all spent their days together in a nursery, having
imaginary adventures and thinking about what they will do when they get
older. A constant source of tension was trying to avoid getting caught
by “Nanny” while they were busy making mischief,
but some how the muppet babies always got away with it. Although much
has happened with the muppet babies since I was a little kid watching
the show, the basic idea is still the same, and as classic as ever.
The muppet babies delight little kids, because they can still relate to
them like the muppets and enjoy their antics, but they feel even more
commonality because the cartoon characters represent the same age
group. In my opinion, the muppets are really a better show, but the
muppet babies are good too. The thing I like about the muppets is the
awesome, funny puppets. There are plenty of cartoons with better
animation than the muppet baby cartoon, but there is no one who can do
puppets like Jim Henson. And the songs and dances that they do are
hysterical and sensational. Even the movies manage to keep it together
classically, and are the source of many memories.
