Cure
For Morning Sickness
When
you are pregnant you are looking forward to one of the most amazing
events in your life; the birth of your baby. If you suffer
from morning sickness though, that joy and anticipation is often
replaced by a feeling of nausea and listlessness.
Morning sickness affects many women and it can become so severe that it
results in absence from work and in some cases even days spent in
bed. Although the symptoms are more pronounced for some women
when they wake in the morning, it can last all day long.
If you need a cure for morning sickness you might consider having a
supply of soda crackers near the bed. Soda crackers help to
absorb the excess acid in the stomach that leads to the feeling of
nausea and can also contribute to vomiting. If you eat a few
before you get out of bed you might help curb those feelings and have a
better, less queasy start to your day.
A cure for morning sickness can be found in Vitamin B-6. If
your symptoms are more severe, your doctor may prescribe a low does
Vitamin B-6 supplement. You’ll take this with food
and it will help to alleviate the symptoms.
What and when you eat might also be a cure for morning
sickness. There are some foods that you should avoid if you
do find yourself feeing queasy. Foods that contain a lot of
salt aren’t good for pregnant women. Also foods
that are high in fat can contribute to the symptoms of morning symptom.
They also don’t benefit the health of you or your baby so
it’s a good idea to pass on them.
Eating smaller meals more frequently has been an effective cure for
morning sickness. When you eat every few hours your body is
able to maintain blood sugar levels. If your blood sugar level drops
you will be more prone to feeling nauseous.
Eating something high in protein during those small meals serves a
couple of different purposes. Foods high in protein, such as
peanut butter or chicken, help to curb the feelings of nausea that can
lead to vomiting. High protein foods also are very healthy to
both mother and baby.
Morning sickness is temporary and with a few slight adjustments in diet
it can be treated. If the symptoms become very severe and
it’s difficult for you to keep any food in it’s
time to see a doctor. There are prescription medications that
are safe and designed to treat morning sickness. Talk to your doctor
and decide what is best for you and your baby.
