Studies For Children
Kids
love everything technological nowadays. Computers, internet, i-pods
– anything that is high tech they can't keep their hands off
of. Unfortunately, a lot of these things aren't very good for them.
Computers cause eye strain and take time a way from playing and
learning which they should be doing instead, the headphones from their
music players can cause hearing damage. And that is to say nothing
about all of the objectionable and sometimes dangerous material on the
internet.
Fortunately, there is a way to turn this technological craze to the
advantage of your family and your children. If you are technologically
savvy, check out the wealth of bible studies for children available
over the world wide web. Yeah I know, you may be telling me that it's
hard to get your children to focus on their bible studies as it is. But
when you give them online bible studies for children (many of which are
available for free, or for very reasonable prices), complete with
graphics, film clips, and hip modern language which will engage them,
they are so much more likely to take the time to use them.
Of course, a rewards system is also useful. I make my kids spend one
hour using the bible studies for children for every hour which they
spend surfing the “web”. That way, they study the
bible more AND use the internet less. I can even participate
with them, helping them fill out the tests at the end of each lesson.
My daughter pretends not to, but I know that she enjoys her bible
studies for children lessons. My son doesn't even pretend any more.
Of course, if you are not technologically literate, or if you don't
allow your children to use the internet (as I know that many Christians
don't – and for good reason), there are a huge number of
bible studies for children available in paper. These children's bible
lessons can be ordered from every denomination, and are often handed
out free of charge by many churches. They even have early readers bible
studies for children, so that you can teach your kids to read and teach
them all about the good word at the same time. Many of them have lavish
illustrations done by professional artists, as well as a wealth of
background historical information which will help your child learn
about ancient history at the same time as the bible.
